James L. Rice, 67, lifelong resident of Unionville Center, died Friday morning, Feb. 8, 2013, at Riverside Methodist Hospital after a brief illness.
Born Feb. 1, 1946, in Unionville Center.
Jim was an avid fisherman in the creeks and reservoirs in central Ohio.
He was employed by Sunray in Delaware, a Tool & Die Maker for Rockwell International and Welder and Fabricator for Siemens over the years.
Preceded in death by parents, Frank and Cora (Spaulding) Rice; son, Todd Rice in 1996; brothers, Norman Rice and Clyde Rice; good friend and ex-wife, Ellen (Bowman) Rice.
Survived by son, Brian (Tracey) Rice; grandchildren, Nicholas Thompson and Amber Frederick; great-grandson, Blaine Frederick; sisters, JoAnn Nunamaker and Martha (Jim) Helle; many nieces and nephews; good friend of the family, Mary Wells.
The family will receive friends from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, at the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, 202 E. Main St. (state Route 161 W.), Plain City, where the funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 11, 2013. Pastor Jack Marcum will be officiating. Burial will be at Darby Township Cemetery, Unionville Center.
