John V. Tackett(Dec. 7, 1942 - June 19, 2014)

LONDON - John V. Tackett, 71, of London and West Virginia, died Thursday, June 19, 2014 in OSU Medical Center.
Born Dec. 7, 1942 in Emmitt, W. Va., he was a son of and Vertie (Burke) Tackett.
John had worked at Colonial Stair in Jeffersonville and South Charleston, attended the Apostolic Gospel Church in Henderson, W. Va., loved the outdoors, old Western movies and four wheeling.
Survivors include his wife, Velma (Pitts) Owens Tackett; stepdaughters, Angie (Merrill), Lori (Jim), Valerie (John), Ellen, Charidy (Ron), Carla (Kelly), Molly (Shawn) and Amanda (Keith); grandchildren, Joshua, Jessica, Dusty, Mathew, Tabitha, Ashley, Amy, Amber, Sommer, Sean, Megan, Eric and Austin; great-grandchildren, Morgan, Tatum, Madison, Anna, Keegan, Stevie, Genevieve, Marlee and Charlie; brothers, Kenneth (Shirley) Johnson, Harold (Melinda) Little, Dan (Mary) Tackett, Junior Tackett, Church Tackett, Dale Tackett; sister, Faye Bennett, 16 nieces and nephews and special friends Manuel Arteaga and Bill Hornsby.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Imogene Scales; and sister-in-law, Donna Tackett.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 29, 2014 at the EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 103 N. Main St., London. Interment will follow in Somerford Township Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from noon until time of services Sunday.
