Larry Rothwell(June 18, 1938 - May 12, 2014)

LONDON - Larry Rothwell, 75, of London, died Monday, May 12, 2014 at The Ohio State University Medical Center.
Born June 18, 1938 in Rosedale, he was the son of J. Frank and Dortha (Deck) Rothwell.
Larry was co-owner of Rothwell's Neighborhood Restaurant.
He was a graduate of Wilmington College and taught at West Jefferson Schools for 30 years. He also worked as a bartender at the Red Brick Tavern, a place where strong friendships were formed. Like his father, he was an accomplished carpenter and spent much of his free time building things, whether it was an entire house, a birdhouse with his grandsons or crafts for friends and family. His favorite hobby was gardening and especially loved to grow tomatoes and corn. Most summer evenings were spent on his deck with family, eating BLT's, corn on the cob and fresh tomatoes from his garden.
Larry loved sports and coached high school sports and volunteered with the London Area Baseball Council coaching both his son's and daughter's baseball and softball teams. His favorite pastime was fishing and enjoyed trips to Lake Erie and Canada with his friends. Larry was a member of the Lafayette United Methodist Church and The London Lions Club.
His generosity and kind heart were an inspiration to his family. He lived his life with honor and integrity.
Larry is survived by his wife, Jenavie "Jennie" (Carpenter) Rothwell; daughter, Amy (Matt) Rees of London; son, Scott (Lynn) Rothwell of West Jefferson; grandsons, Mitchell and Casey Rees; nieces and nephews.
