SARAH ELIZABETH BELL
LONDON - Sarah Elizabeth Bell went to be with her Lord & Saviour early Friday morning, April 25, 2014, at Logan Acres Cares Care Center listening to her beloved gospel music and praising Jesus.
Private graveside services were held Monday, April 28, 2014, at Kirkwood Cemetery in London, Ohio.
She was born Nov. 24, 1921 to Oak & Rachel (Marcum) Perry in Louisa, Ky.
Sarah married Lindsey and moved to London where they lived and worked on the Orleton Farms until retiring. Sarah was a homemaker while her husband worked at the barn raising hogs. They raised gardens and children while surrounded by beautiful flowers and a loving home.
She was a long time member of Plumwood Church of Christ in Christian Union, and an active volunteer for vacation Bible school, baking all the cookies and passing them out with Kool-Aid to the children.
Mom kept a beautiful home and could grow any plant or flower she wanted, loved to collect birds and angel figurines and enjoyed sewing and quilting. She was an amazing cook and would feed everyone. She would take a full cooked meal on glass plates out to the boys plowing the fields for lunch, with a tall glass of fresh homemade ice tea. She would give away vegetables from the garden by the bag full and bucket full to any visitors. Sarah believed in loving one another. Her last years were spent at Logan Acres surrounded by wonderful nurses and staff that were all Mom's Angels. One of her favorite things was to watch the birds they had in the common room right outside her own door as well as the resident pet dog that came to her room for doggie treats every day.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie & David Lawrence of Douglasville, Ga.; 2 sons, (whereabouts unknown); 1 grandson, Michael; 8 granddaughters; and at least 5 great-grandchildren; niece, Jackie Hughes; nephews, Rodger & Jimmy Perry of Ky.; special friend, Dorothy Miller and her Guardian Angel, Marion Reaves.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Lindsey Bell & her son Leslie Bell; 3 sisters, Alice, Reva and Kentucky; and 5 brothers, Jim, Bill, Rex, Walter and Rodger.
In memorial to Sarah and how much she loved birds, the family requests donations made to: Logan Acres Care Center, PetFund, 2739 County Road 91, Bellefontaine, OH 43311; (937) 599-7063.
