Bryan E. Oiler, 49, of Raymond, Columbus Firefighter at Station 10, passed away Tuesday evening, Sept. 17, 2013 at the Kobacker House, Columbus.
Born Aug. 6, 1964 in Canoga Park, Calif.
1982 Jonathan Alder High School graduate.
U.S. Navy veteran (1983-1989) HT2 serving on the USS Belknap stationed in Naples, Italy. Bryan was a member of Veteran of Foreign Wars (VFW) Darby Post No. 3268, Plain City, Ohio.
He became a firefighter Sept. 10, 1995 and was the American Legion Firefighter of the Year in 2010.
32nd Degree Mason of the Richwood Mt. Carmel Lodge No. 303 F&AM.
Bryan was an avid Scuba Diver in both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. He also loved hunting with his family, but most of all he dearly loved his wife and spending time with his children and father, Carl.
Preceded in death by his father-in-law, Kenneth L. Hartman.
Survived by his loving wife, Teresa Ann (Hartman) Oiler; children, Michael D. Oiler, Kaylee N. Oiler, Bryan K. Oiler and Cassie A Oiler; mother, Floella "Flo" (Weldon) Oiler; father, Carl Oiler Jr.; sisters, Tammy (Billy) Milesky, Hidie (Mike) Will, Jenny Walter; mother-in-law, June Hartman; brother-in-law, Kenny Hartman, Rick (Sandy) Hartman; sister-in-law, Lori (Barbara) Hartman; nieces and nephews and very good friends, Scott Sollars and Jimmy Femstemake.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19 and from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20 with Masonic services at 8 p.m. at Maranatha Community Fellowship, 6240 Lucas Pike N.E., Plain City (corner of state Route 42 and Lucas Pike) where the funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Bryan E. Oiler Memorial Fund, at any Huntington National Bank for the children's college education.
