LONDON — Jerome "Jerry" Sparks, 78, of London, died Friday, Dec. 6, 2013 in the Kobacker House, Columbus.

Born Jan. 15, 1935 in Bellefontaine, he was a son of Miriam M. (Bower) and Richard P. "Dick" Sparks.

Jerry had served in Europe for the U.S. Army and had worked for General Motors for over 30 years. A member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church. He also belonged to UAW Local No. 969 and enjoyed being an active member of the Madison County Senior Center.

Survivors include his children, Stephen (Jayne) Sparks of Galloway, Stephanie (Neil) Clarridge of Danville, Va. and Ruric (Trisha) Sparks of London; eight-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Frederic (Patricia) Sparks of Bucyrus; sister, Sharon G. (Roy C.) Weimert of The Villages, Fla.; brother-in-law, Dan Ashcraft of Bellefontaine; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father; sister, Nancy D. Ashcraft; and great-grandson, Cameron.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2013 in the Westminster Presbyterian Church, 222 Schoolhouse Lane, Columbus, with Rev. Kim Trimboli officiating. Interment will follow at 3 p.m. in Bellefontaine Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 103 N. Main St., London, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10 and from 10 a.m. until time of services at the church on Wednesday.

The family suggests donations to the Madison County Senior Center, 280 W. High St., London, OH 43140.
