Keith H. Flowers, 88, of Plain City, passed away Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 1, 2013 at Mount Carmel West, Columbus.
Born Feb. 22, 1925 in Columbus.
World War II Army veteran serving with the 13th Engineer Battalion in Seoul Korea transporting personnel, construction supplies and equipment. Also convoy driving averaging over 400 miles per week.
Member of the VFW Darby Post 3268 of Plain City.
Keith retired from the Teamsters as a truck driver for Point Express.
As the unofficial greeter of Plain City, he enjoyed sitting and waving at all the people from his porch swing.
Preceded in death by parents, Kenneth and Opal (Harris) Flowers; companion for over 25 years, Juanita (Cron) Nichols in 2008; brother, Richard Flowers; sister, Esther Flowers.
Survived by children, Linda (Bill) Hummer of Columbus and Michael (Tina) Flowers of Plain City; grandchildren, Michel (Michael) Champer, Dawn (Philip) Greenbaum, Ryan (Maggie) Flowers, Brendan (Judith) Hummer and Whitney (Nick) Guzzo; 16 great-grandchildren; sister, Betty (Bruce Krane) Flowers of Columbus.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4, at the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, 202 E. Main St. (state Route 161 W.), Plain City, where the funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013. Rev. Dr. Charles E. Stenner officiating. Burial will be at Forest Grove Cemetery with full military honors conducted by the Union County Honor Guard.
