Robert L. "Rob" Nichols Jr., 55, of Springfield, died Wednesday morning, March 13, 2013, at his residence surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with liver failure and recent transplant.
Born June 16, 1957 in Columbus, Ohio.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran.
He was a truck driver for many years.
Rob was an avid outdoorsman, he loved to go fishing and hunting. Big fan of the Browns and OSU football.
Preceded in death by his father, Robert L. "Bob" Nichols Sr.; son, Sean Nichols; brother, Andrew Nichols; sister, Cathy Riggs; stepbrother, Eddie Sexton.
Survived by his loving wife, Darlene (Meade) Nichols; children, Matthew Nichols, Mark (Angela) Helmuth, Emily Nichols; grandchildren, Taylor, Austin and Kate; brother, Wade Nichols; mother, Barbara (Williams) Nichols; grandmother, Gladys (Debolt) Nichols; stepmother, Shelby Nichols; stepsisters, Lisa (Tim) Hill, Shawn (Kevin) Bennett.
Celebration of Rob's Life will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 23, 2013, at FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, 202 E. Main St. (state Route 161), Plain City, with the family receiving friends from 1-3 p.m. Saturday prior to the service.
