Alta Borders, 93, of Mt. Sterling, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013 surrounded by her loving family.
Alta was born March 15, 1920 in Salyersville, Ky.
She was a homemaker who enjoyed camping, fishing, playing euchre and spending time with her family.
Alta was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years Ernest; her brothers, Joe Estepp and Glenn Estepp; sisters, Freida Garrison and Lou Jean Patrick.
Alta leaves a legacy of love including four children, Linda (Greg) Fisher, E. Jo Borders(Chuck Coggins), Dean Borders (Jane Sigrist) and Peggy (Buzz) Fry; grandchildren, Jon Saunders, Leslie Maiberger, Todd Saunders, Kay Dixon-Bell, Jim Cox, Juli Marczika, Randy Spencer; 17 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and her sister, Ethel Gross.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 21, at PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 331 W. Main St., Mt. Sterling with Rev. Dortha Ross officiating. Internment will follow in Pleasant Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 20.
