JEFFERSONVILLE - Carl Eldon Wilson, 76, of South Charleston, went to be with the lord on Monday, April 14, 2014 at the OSU Medical Center, Columbus, Ohio.
He was born Oct. 21, 1937 in Bookwalter, to the late Orville and Glenna Whittridge Wilson.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Patti L. Dean Wilson.
He was retired from B.R. Harrah and Sons Contracting and a member of the Laborers Union Local 1410. Carl was a veteran of the Army Reserve and a member of the First Presbyterian Church, South Charleston.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by three brothers, Orville A. Wilson, William T. Wilson and James R. Wilson; and one sister, Gladys Hidy.
In addition to his wife he is survived by one son, Kyle (Lori) Wilson of South Solon; one daughter, Velvet (Kevin) King of Urbana; one brother, Robert (Sue) Wilson of Mt. Sterling; three sisters, Loretta Long of Sabina, Mildred Beekman of Washington Court House and Elaine (Jack) Martindale of Washington Court House; nine grandchildren, Carl "CJ" Wilson, Derrick Wilson, Mathew Wilson, Andy Wilson, Titus Wilson, Jerry (Brittany) Deere, John Chambers, Patrick Chambers and Sereda Chambers; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 17, 2014 at the First Presbyterian Church, South Charleston, with Rev. Dr. William Reisenweaver officiating. Burial will be in the South Vienna Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday at the church from 11 a.m. until time of service.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Mission Fund, First Presbyterian Church, 15 N. Chillicothe St., South Charleston, OH 45368.
