GOODYEAR
Dean E. Goodyear, 91, of London, died at 4 a.m. Monday, Dec. 17, 2012, in the Madison Senior Living Community in London.
Born on July 14, 1921, in Somerford Township, he was a son of Maurice P. and Ethel V. (Mowell) Goodyear.
Along with his brother, Clyde, Dean owned and operated the Goodyear Plymouth Chrysler Dodge auto dealership in London from 1950 to 1985.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in London.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Dean was a member and past president of the London Country Club for 2 years, member and past president of the Madison County Automobile Dealers Association, and a member and past president of the former Junior Chamber of Commerce in London. He was also a former member of the London Kiwanis Club.
Survivors are his wife of 68 years, Mary (Egelhoff) Goodyear; a son, Edward Dean (Michele) Goodyear of London; daughters, Pamela Sue (Robert) Hoagland of Yardley, Pennsylvania, and Deborah Jean (Doug) Sebastian of Dublin, Ohio; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Clyde; and a sister, Addie Caveney.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012, in the First Presbyterian Church of London. Rev. Gordon Johnson will be officiating. Interment will follow in Somerford Township Cemetery. Friends may call at the First Presbyterian Church of London from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19.
Services are under the direction of the EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 103 N. Main St., London.
If they wish, friends may make memorial contributions in Dean's name to the Madison County Hospital, the First Presbyterian Church of London, or to Loving Care Hospice.
