Diana (Byerly) Corney, 55, of West Jefferson, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, June 26, 2013.
She was born Jan. 27, 1958 in Columbus, Ohio, to William and Shirley Byerly.
Diana graduated from West Jefferson High School in 1976.
She was employed by Vanner Inc. for the past 18 years, and considered all her co-workers her Vanner family.
Diana was an extremely strong person. She battled ovarian cancer for the past 20 years. She never let cancer win and always had a positive outlook and lived an upbeat life. She was a very caring person and was always very empathetic to others.
Diana was preceded in death by her parents, William and Shirley Byerly; and her dog of 17 years, Blotter.
She is survived by her beloved son, Levi (Amanda) Corney and her cherished grandson Ashton; brothers, Patrick (Joann) Byerly, Mark Byerly, and Bill (Rana) Byerly; mother-in-law, Freda Corney; many nephews and nieces who she loved very much along with all her extended family and many friends to name.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations in her memory to the James Fund for Life (Columbus, Ohio) in hopes of one day finding a cure.
Memorial Service will be held at 5 p.m. Wednesday, July 3, 2013, in the RADER-McDONALD FUNERAL HOME, 1355 W. Main St., West Jefferson.
