Donald Edward ""Donnie"" Grewell (Sept. 21, 1937 - Sept. 26, 2013)

GREWELL
Services for Donald "Donnie" Edward Grewell, 76, of Tyler, will be held on Sunday, Sept. 29, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Stewart Family Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Sherman Mayfield will be officiating.
Burial will follow at Hawkins Cemetery in Hawkins, Texas under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home.
Mr. Grewell passed away Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013 at Hospice Homeplace in Tyler, Texas.
He was born Sept. 21, 1937 in Springfield, Ohio and spent his childhood in Mt. Sterling, Ohio and working on the family farm.
Donnie graduated from Mt. Sterling High School. After high school, he was hired by Cowan and Associates and relocated to Tyler, where he continued as a surveyor for them for 51 years and became fondly known as "Donnie."
He was an active member of the East Texas Surveyors Association. Don's love of his life was his family: wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Donnie was preceded in death by his mother, Emma A. Grewell.
He is survived by his loving family including his wife of 52 years, Sarah Dacus Grewell of Tyler; daughters, Laura Grewell Jordan and husband Bobby of Dayton and Terri Grewell Johnson and husband Chip of Tyler; granddaughter, April Jordan Gilbert and husband Scott of Mont Belvieu; grandsons, Aaron Tyler Jordan of Dayton, Trey Johnson of Addison and Eric Johnson of Lubbock; great-grandsons, Garrett, Keagan and Jake Gilbert; sisters, Sandra Sells and husband Dick of Columbus, Ohio, Karen Sue Arbogast of Mt. Sterling, Ohio and Roxanne Anderson and husband Doug of Williamsport, Ohio; brother, Robert Lane Grewell of Mt. Sterling, Ohio; and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and George.
Pallbearers will be Trey Johnson, Eric Johnson, Tyler Jordan, Scott Gilbert, Troy Sells, Chip Johnson and Bobby Jordan.
Honorary pallbearers will be Matt Anderson, Jason Grewell, Heath Grewell, Ryan Arbogast and Kenneth Holley.
Visitation is scheduled for one hour prior to service on Sunday, Sept. 29, 2013 at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Highway, in Tyler, Texas.
