Guyla June Converse, 87, of Plain City, passed away at home Thursday morning, Jan. 24, 2013, following a battle with lung cancer.
Born Jan. 14, 1926, she was the daughter of John A. Gaa and Bertha Milholland Stewart.
She lived her entire life in Plain City, and felt there was nowhere better on earth.
Guyla was preceded in death by her parents; brother, John A. "Lefty" Gaa II in 1991; nephew, John A. Gaa III; adopted sister and friend, Margaret Warner Galbraith.
She will be deeply missed by her husband of 66 years, James T. Converse; three children, Tim Converse of West Jefferson, Michele (Ivan) Troyer of Plain City, Denise Scott of Plain City; her eight grandchildren, Vince Converse, Dan Converse, Erin Converse, Julie Miller, Amy Detweiler, Mackenzie Whitaker, Abbey Martini, Matt Scott; and 14 great-grandchildren were the loves of her life and were always met with a hug, kiss and special treat.
Guyla is remembered as a happy person who was quick to laugh, loved deeply and loyally, fed everyone who visited, and made each person she met feel special.
Per her request, there will be graveside services followed by a memorial service for family and close friends only.
