Hailey Nicole Petee, 11, of London, died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013, in her residence.
Hailey was born on May 1, 2001, in Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, a daughter of Melinda Groce and David Petee.
She was a fifth grade student at London City Schools.
A lover of animals, Hailey had just attended her first 4-H meeting Saturday, where she hoped to raise guinea pigs as a project. She also enjoyed swimming, singing and bicycling.
She is survived by her parents of London; three sisters, Destaney, Skylynn and Selena; nieces, Lyla and Alyiah; maternal grandmother, Dee of Columbus; maternal grandfather, Elmo and his wife Teresa; paternal grandfather, David; paternal great-grandmother, Dolores; aunts, Erin, Lisa and Stephanie; uncles, Shane, Earnest, Ronnie and Eric; numerous cousins, and extended family and a host of friends including best friends, Rachel, Autumn and Izzy.
Preceding her in death was her paternal grandmother, Evet.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, in the Church of Christ in Christian Union, 180 W. Center St., London. Chaplain Teena Gallagher will be officiating. Interment will follow in Paint Memorial Cemetery, London. Friends may call at the church from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30.
