Jacob S. "Jack" Selnick, 92, of London, died Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012, in his residence.
Born June 1, 1920, in Brooklyn, New York, he was a son of Abraham and Pauline (Ginsberg) Selnick.
Jack retired as a logistics officer from Wright Patterson Air Force Base after retiring as a Chief Warrant Officer 4 from the U.S. Air Force. Jack had also served in the U.S. Army, U.S. Army Air Corp, the Air Force as well as the Merchant Marines during World War II and Korea.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of London, Madison Memorial Post No. 105, American Legion, VFW Post No. 1031 Springfield, Air Force Association, the 351st Bomb Group Association, the American Air Museum in Britain and was a charter member of the World War II Memorial Association.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Wilma (Schmid) Selnick; son and daughter-in-law, David and Christa Selnick of Arlington, Virginia; sons from a previous marriage, Gerald Selnick and Carl Selnick; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and three sisters.
The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to all those who provided comfort and support to Jack during his final illness.
Funeral services will be held at noon Friday, Nov. 23, 2012, in the EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 103 N. Main St., London, OH 43140. Chaplain Lloyd Markley will be officiating. Interment will follow in Somerford Township Cemetery, London, where military honors will be bestowed by the Wright Patterson AFB Honor Guard. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until time of services Friday.
