WASHINGTON COURT HOUSE - Janet Carson (Wallace), 86, of Washington Court House, passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at Mount Carmel Medical Center.
She was born Jan. 31, 1928, to the late Charles and Ruth Strong Rockhold in Sabina, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life and husband of 51 years, Bill Carson; and husband of 2 short joyful years, Clarence Wallace.
Janet and Bill were former owners and operators of Bob's Dry Cleaners in Washington Court House.
She was a member and active leader of the First Presbyterian Church, a volunteer at Fayette Memorial Hospital, Meals-on-Wheels and a member of the Fayette County Commission on Aging. Janet loved and was loved by many in the community.
In addition, Janet was preceded in death by her brothers, Dick Rockhold and Robert (Rocky) Rockhold; and son-in-law, Randy Miller.
Janet is survived by 3 children, Joyce Miller of Washington Court House, Jim (Nancy) Carson of Hilton Head, South Carolina and Judy (Rich) Yekel of San Antonio,Texas; brother, Craig Rockhold of Washington Court House; grandchildren, Melissa (Scott) Hixon of Bloomingburg, Melanie (Willie Haithcock) Miller of Zanesville, and Walker Gass of Newport, Kentucky; great-grandchildren, Tamika Miller and fiance Patrick Sidenstick, Carson Miller and special friend Tammy Weidman, Treg Miller, and Kenya Haithcock.
A funeral service will be held at the MORROW FUNERAL HOME, 415 E. Court St., Washington Court House, at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 12, 2014, with Reverend Everett Miller of First Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will follow at the Washington Cemetery. Friends may call at the Funeral Home from 1-5 p.m. on Saturday, May 10.
