JoAnn Walters, 73, of Delaware, died Sunday, June 16, 2013 at her home.
She was born March 7, 1940 in West Jefferson, to Jay and Nancy (Stapleton) Morris.
She graduated from West Jefferson High School.
She is survived by two daughters, Denise (Ed) Hoover of Delaware and Shawnie Lewis and her significant other, Jason Mitchell of St. Cloud, Florida; a son, Mike (Janice) of Chapel Hill, North Carolina; nine grandchildren, Kip Armstrong, Lori Overfield, Erin Oropeza, Joshua Walters, Jerry Hoover, Tia Lemaster, Bryce Lewis, Tory Lewis and Holly Oberdier; many great-grandchildren; a sister, Judy Carl of Edgewater, Florida; and two brothers, Robert Redmond and Richard Morris, both of West Jefferson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman; a daughter, Judy Jarvis; two sisters, Lucille Ogilvie and Francis Kuhns-Sullivan; and a brother, Fred Morris.
If anyone knew JoAnn, they knew her passion for golfing, ice cream, chocolate and her grand-babies.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 18 at the ROBINSON FUNERAL HOME, 32 W. Winter St., Delaware, (740) 369-6751, where the funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 19, 2013. Rev. Lynn Ramey will be officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.
