John W. Allen Jr., 82, of Unionville Center, died Thursday morning, March 7, 2013, at the Memorial Hospital Emergency Room with his loving family at his side.
Born July 9, 1930, in Unionville Center. Born, raised and lived in the same house his entire life.
A dedicated U.S. Marine during the Korean Conflict.
Supervisor at Ranco Controls for 41 years.
Known as the "Bald Eagle" during his CB radio days.
John was an avid fisherman and never went anywhere without his faithful companion Casey.
Preceded in death by brother, Herman Allen; sister and brother-in-law, Doris and Ross Venrick.
Survived by loving wife, Patricia (Welch) Allen; children, John W. Allen of Plain City, Rebecca (Roger) Roush of Plain City, Steve (Ellie) Allen of Georgia; six grandchildren, Kristi Kapel, Jonathan Kyle Allen, Rodney Roush, Richard Roush, Robert Roush, Wesley Allen; numerous great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, March 10, at the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, 202 E. Main St. (state Route 161 W.), Plain City, where the funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 11, 2013. Burial will be at Unionville Center Cemetery. Full Military Honors conducted by the Union County Honor Guard.
