Joseph (Joe) Rea Beery, 59, of Mt. Sterling, Ohio, died Monday, May 20, 2013, at OSU Hospital after a brief illness surrounded by his family.
Born on Feb. 6, 1954 in Columbus, Ohio, he was the son of Jerry and Doris (Luke) Beery.
Joe was a self-employed farmer.
He was graduated from Madison-Plains High School in 1972. He attended Clark State and The Ohio State University.
Survivors include his wife, Patty (Fischer) Beery; sons, Michael and Jesse Beery; brothers, Brooks (Jane) Beery of Mt. Sterling, Ohio and Steve (Mary) Beery of London, Ohio; brothers-in-law, Bob (Christy) Fischer of West Jefferson, Ohio and Ken Fischer of Clarkston, Michigan; nephews, Zachary (Angie) Beery, Zane (Meggan) Beery, Josh (Wanda) Beery, Jason Fischer; niece, Sarah (William) Johnson; father and mother-in-law, Bob and Dolores Fischer of London, Ohio; several grand nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Beery; and mother, Doris (Luke) Beery.
Visitation will be observed Thursday, May 23, 2013 at the First Presbyterian Church, 211 Garfield Ave., London, from 12:30-2 p.m. with a memorial service to follow at 2 p.m. The Reverend Gordon Johnson will be officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Joe's memory to the American Diabetes Association, Central Ohio Office, 937 High St., Worthington, OH 43085.
