Leslie M. Payne, 79, of London, died peacefully in her sleep Monday, March 4, 2013, in her home.
She was born on Dec. 29, 1933, in London, a daughter of Donald and Eleanor (Moore) Morrison.
Leslie was retired as a secretary from the London City Schools, and was a member of the London Aerie No. 950 Fraternal Order of Eagles Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Don Dionne of Tampa, Florida, Nancy Sue and Ken Todd of London; son and daughter-in-law, Gregg and Lynn Payne of London; grandchildren, Reci (Chris) Brown, Jamie (Amy) Todd, Leslie Todd, Adam (Monica) Lacey, Allison (Jim) Webb, Kylie Payne and fiancé Josh Prichard, J.D. Payne; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters, Nancy (Jim) Smith and Susie (Pete) Andrews McGuire, both of London, Sally (Ron) Shoemaker of Denver, Colorado; brother, Don Jr. (Karen) Morrison of Wintersville, Ohio; several nieces and nephews, and many friends including her special friend Russ Evans.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, John E. Payne on Dec. 17, 1999; brother-in-law, David Andrews; and great-grandson, Blake Todd.
Leslie will be remembered as a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and special friend. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at the RADER-LYNCH & DODDS FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICE, 124 E. High St., London, Ohio, from 10 a.m. until time of service at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2013. Reverend Sue McClelland will be officiating. Inurnment will be held at the convenience of the family in Paint Township Cemetery.
Memorial contributions are requested to be made to the Leslie M. Payne Memorial Scholarship Fund at London City Schools, or to London Aerie No. 950 Fraternal Order of Eagles Charitable Fund.
