Mary Barbara (Frey) Dietsch, 80, of West Jefferson, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, April 28, 2013.
Born Aug. 11, 1932, in West Jefferson, Ohio, the daughter of Jacob M. and Ruth N. (Price) Frey.
Mary was a member of the First Baptist Church of West Jefferson. She served with the Volunteer Fire Department as a Firebell for 30 years.
She retired from Sears Distribution of Columbus, Ohio where she worked in security.
She was a beloved wife, sister, aunt, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who loved to cook, bake, crochet, sew, and toll paint.
Survivors include daughter, Deborah K. Dietsch of West Jefferson; son, Dirk A. (Tina L.) Dietsch of Horton, Michigan; grandchildren, Amber R. Price (James Davis) of West Jefferson, Samuel R. and Sadie R. Dietsch of Horton, Michigan; great-grandchildren, Thomas R. Price and Dakota R. McGarey of West Jefferson; sisters, Pauline F. "Polly" Beachy of West Jefferson, Doris M. (Robert L.) Wey of Phoenix, Arizona; sisters-in-law, Patricia G. Phillips of West Jefferson, Linda L. Craig of Clayton, North Carolina; nieces, Jody L. (Richard W.) Taylor, Lisa J. (Steve G.) Sterling, Paula S. (Jerry W.) Pullins, all of Galloway, Ohio, Kathleen L. (Barry A.) Hinckley of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, Tammy K. (Jay) Begin of Phoenix, Arizona; nephews, Keith N. (Rebecca) Beachy of Wilmington, North Carolina, Robert PK (Lorri) A.) Craig of New Bern, North Carolina, Russell E. (Julie Rossell) Wilson ll of Ravenna, Ohio, Earl A. (Annette M.) Wilson of Kent, Ohio; several great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by parents; husband, Robert E. in 1998, who she married Nov. 3, 1956; sisters, Alice B. Frey in 1935 and Evelyn R. Poland in 2002; brother, Frank L. Frey in 1928; sister-in-law, Virginia L. Dietsch in 1980; brothers-in-law, Clarence N. "Pete" Beachy in 2001, Thomas C. Phillips in 2012, Howard "Ted" Poland in 1989; nephew, Larry A. Poland 2003.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 1, 2013, in the First Baptist Church of West Jefferson, where Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m. Rev. Glade May will be officiating. Interment will follow in Hampton Cemetery.
