Naomi Ruth Alkire, 81, formerly of Mt. Sterling, died Monday, Sept. 30, 2013 in Mount Carmel East Medical Center.
She was born May 21, 1932 in Circleville, Ohio, daughter of the late Nelson and Lucy (Wilkins) Garrett.
Ruth was a member of the Waterloo Church of Christ in Christian Union.
Preceded in death by husband, Robert; sisters, Cora, Virginia, Edith, Esther, and Gayle; brothers, George, Ernest, Robert and Roy.
She is survived by sons, Robert (Carol) Walisa of Washington Court House, Charles (Darla) Walisa of Oregon, Jeffrey (Judy) Walisa of Stoutsville; daughter, Faye Cradlebaugh of Washington Court House; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Kneece and Elsie Wiggins; brother, James (Linda) Garrett, all of Circleville; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Funeral service will be held at noon on Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013 at the Waterloo Church of Christ in Christian Union. Rev. Joy Stanforth and Rev. Doyne Wiggins will be officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Cemetery, Mt. Sterling. Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until time of service.
