Nelson C. McLarkey (June 26, 1935 - )

Nelson C. McLarkey, 77, traveled to that undiscovered country for rest and refreshment at 11:05 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, 2012.
He was born June 26, 1935, in Carey, Ohio, had lived in Columbus and Madison Lake, London, Ohio, and was currently a resident of the Springfield Masonic Community.
He is predeceased by his parents, Nelson A.M. McLarkey and Zenith S. (Dame) McLarkey.
A 1953 graduate of Carey High School, he also graduated from Bowling Green State University in 1957.
He served in the 35th Field Artillery Battalion, U.S. Army in Germany April 1959 to April 1961. After Military Service, he was employed as a Surveyor, becoming a Registered Professional Surveyor in 1985.
He became a member of Carey Lodge No. 420, F&AM in 1958, becoming more active in Masonry in 1988, earning a K.Y.C.H. in 1999. A member of Chandler Lodge No. 138, F&AM, he was also a member of the West Gate Chapter No. 216, R.A.M.; West Gate Council No. 129, R&SM; Willis Commandery No. 82, K.T.; Order of the Eastern Star, Worthington Chapter No. 287, O.E.S.; London Chapter No. 386 O.E.S.; and A.A.S.R., Valley of Columbus. He was also a member of many Honorary Bodies in Freemasonry.
Survivors are his wife of 48 years, Barbara (Johnston) McLarkey; a daughter, ?Diana Lynn (Kevin) Fowler of Columbus; son, Roy N. (Tami) McLarkey of Three Rivers, Michigan; stepdaughter, Pamela Johnston of Columbus; and four granddaughters.
Friends may call at the EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 103 N. Main St., in London from 5-7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7. Masonic and Eastern Star services will follow immediately at 7:30 p.m. Friday. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012, in the funeral home. Chaplain Bruce Vincent will be officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in Georgesville.
