LONDON — Irene Ellars, 87, of London, died Monday, Feb. 3, 2014 surrounded by her family.
Born July 27, 1926 in Bainbridge, she was a daughter of Cleveland and Effie (Harrison) Knisley.
An active member of the London Church of the Nazarene. Irene was a matron of the former Madison County Children's Home.
Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Don Ellars; daughter and son-in-law, Dianne and Bud Miller of London; son, Donald "Pete" Ellars of Columbus; grandson, Joshua Ellars; great-granddaughters, Destiny, Lexie and Daisy Ellars, all of London; brother, Russell Knisley of Plain City; several nieces and nephews and many close friends including Judy Shoemaker of Oregon and Jim and Brenda Stambaugh of London.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and 12 brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7, 2014 in the London Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Jack Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Range Township Cemetery, Sedalia. Friends may call at the EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 103 N. Main St., London from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6, and one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.
