ORPHA MAE LUCAS
WASHINGTON COURT HOUSE - Orpha Mae Lucas, 82, of Mt. Sterling, passed away on Monday, July 21, 2014 at 3:30 p.m. at the St. Catherine's Manor.
She was born on Jan. 18, 1932 in London, Ohio. to Joseph and Sarah Sanders Carpenter.
She had worked as a caregiver for more than 12 years. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Mt. Sterling and loved spending time with her family.
Orpha was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Cathy Terrell; three brothers and four sisters.
Survivors include her children, Carol (Dale) Hall of West Chester, Ricky (Debbie) Lucas and Randy (Sue) Lucas, all of Mt. Sterling; grandchildren, Tracy North, Ryan Terrell, Amy Rife, Jon Lucas and Ross Terrell; 8 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 24, 2014 at the First Church of the Nazarene, 226 N. Market St., in Mt. Sterling, with Dortha Ross officiating, with burial to follow at the Pleasant Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 23.
Arrangements are under the direction of the SUMMERS FUNERAL HOME, 223 W. Market St., Washington Court House.
