James R. Potter, 76, of Wilmington, died on Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, at Clinton Memorial Hospital.
He was born in London, Ohio to the late Lloyd M. Potter and Ruth E. Cummins Potter Earley.
He graduated from London High School in 1954.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1959 to 1964.
He was a member of the U.S. Trotting Association. He retired as a horse trainer and has been working at Walmart as a stocker.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Swartz Potter; and his daughters, Cindy Potter of Wilmington and Tammy Potter of Ft. Hood, Texas and children, Stanley Potter of Lucasville, Neita Saultz, Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, Tina Carter, of London, Ohio; stepson, Bruce Baldwin of Waynesville, Missouri; 10 grandchildren; siblings, Connie Toops, Marilyn Bussey, John Potter, Sharon Potter, David Potter and Linda Price; and stepfather, Ernie Earley.
James wish was to be cremated and there will be a private memorial at a later date.
The arrangements are under the direction of LITTLETON FUNERAL HOME, 104 N. Jackson St., Sabina.
