Raymond Harper Tope, 92, of Springfield, Ohio, passed away on Monday, April 8, 2013, at the Springfield Regional Medical Center.
He was born May 25, 1920, to the late Roy and Lillie Harper Tope in Liberty Township, Jackson County, Ohio.
Mr. Tope was a CPA employed by North American Aviation in Columbus, Rocketdyne in Los Angeles, and then National Acceptance Corp.
He was a graduate of the former Midway High School in Sedalia.
Mr. Tope was a 32nd Degree member of the Valley of Columbus, AASR, a member of Jeffersonville Lodge No. 468 F&AM and was a dual member of Chandler Lodge No. 138 of London. He was a member of the Church in Self Realization Fellowship of Los Angeles, California.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Kathleen Corsette in April of this year; and a nephew, Vic Tope.
He is survived by his brother, James M. (Barbara) Tope of Range, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
There will be a graveside service with a military service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2013, at Range Township Cemetery, Midway. Raymond L. Tope will be officiating.
