John V. Blain, 82, of West Jefferson, went home to be with the Lord Monday, April 29, 2013.
He was born Dec. 12, 1930, in Columbus, the son of the late Charles and Mary Blain.
John retired from Anderson Concrete Co.
He was a member of the West Jefferson Harvest Chapel Church, member of the West Jefferson American Legion Post No. 201 and enjoyed fishing.
A U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include wife, Janice "Jan" Blain whom he married May 15, 1983; two daughters, Debbie Frazier and Fiancé John McCreary of Blacklick, and Diane Husband (Randy Robinson) of Galloway; two sons, Walt Huff, Joe (Jane) Huff of Columbus; nine grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; sister, Famie (Joe) Doty; aunt, Dorothy Flowers of Springfield; cousins and friends.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, May 2, in the RADER-McDONALD FUNERAL HOME, 1355 W. Main St., West Jefferson, where Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 3, 2013. Pastor Paul Burgett will be officiating. Burial and Military Graveside Service will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, West Jefferson.
