She was born in Gardiner on June 28, 1934, and graduated from Gardiner High School in 1953. Bertha had worked at Woolworths in Gardiner and later at an all girls school in Hallowell. She enjoyed watching soap opera's and doing word search games. She also enjoyed her cats and dogs. Being with family was very important to her, especially spending time with her grandchildren.
Bertha was predeceased by her husband, Glenwood Patterson, in 2004.
She is survived by her two daughters, Reta Patterson, of Fayette, and Arlene Deane and her husband, Scott, also of Fayette; two granddaughters, Nathalie and Olivia; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
At the family's request, there will be no visiting or services at this time.
