He served in the Army during World War II, and later worked as a sheet metal worker for many years. He lived in Rockwood for more than 30 years, and three years ago, due to ill health, he and his wife moved to Standish, where they made their home with their granddaughter and her husband.
Ernest was a communicant of St. Joseph Mission in Rockwood and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his wife, Rowena Marin, of Standish; a granddaughter, Kathi, and her husband, Carl Eronsseau, and their son, Christopher, all of Standish; five nieces and nephews, John Mercier, Richard Marin, Joline McCowan, Michelle Dorch, all of California, and Clair Conlin of Harpswell; two great-nephews; five great-nieces; and nine great-great-nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Rockwood at a later date, with burial in the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Augusta. We are so sorry that you are without Babe. We know there will be an awful lonesomeness to you. I cannot call you as didn't realize you have not been in Rockwood for sometime. Our sympathay

Our visits to Rockwood wont be the same without seeing Uncle Babe. We will miss his Cruton.
