She was born Nov. 25, 1935, in Lewiston, the daughter of Arthur and Helen Taylor Jipson. Nancy attended the Stevens Mill School and also the Auburn schools.
On Aug. 18, 1956, in Lewiston, Nancy married Raymond Burgess; Raymond passed away Jan. 9, 2006.
She worked in shoe shops in Auburn and Livermore Falls. She also worked at Greene Manor Nursing Home in Greene.
Nancy and Raymond really enjoyed playing Bingo and going camping. Nancy also enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, also going to their sporting events and their school programs.
She is survived by her daughter, Carol Ann Harrington, and her husband, Duane, of Monmouth; her son, Robert Burgess, and his wife, Cheryl, of Lillian, Ala.; grandchildren Melissa Cameron and her husband, Scott, Nicole Harrington, Laurie Harrington, and Duane Harrington and his wife, Cheryl; great-grandchildren Moesha Harrington, Max and Parker Robitaille, Mikayla and Breeanna Cameron; a nephew, Ron Burgess, and his wife, Bev, of Monmouth; and a nephew, Wayne Jipson, of Leeds. She was predeceased by her husband, Raymond; her parents; a sister, Effie Jane Gray; and two brothers, Arthur and William Jipson.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 3, at Bragdon-Finley Funeral Home, 707 Main St., Monmouth. Visiting hours will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Monday, May 2, at the funeral home.
If desired, contributions may be made to Turner Rescue, P.O. Box 135, Turner, ME 04282. Interment will occur at Leeds Plains Cemetery, Plains Road, Leeds.
