Joyce Foster Obituary
She was born in Augusta on June 2, 1939, the daughter of Wilfred J. Michaud and Bernadette (Giroux) Michaud.
Joyce attended St. Augustine School and graduated from Cony High School. Prior to her retirement in 1996, she was employed by State Cable TV (now Time Warner Cable) for 22 years.
She was predeceased by her parents; her ex-husband, Richard W. Michaud in 2002; many aunts and uncles; and her granddaughter, Katherine Mary Pooler in 2001.
Joyce is survived by her husband, Don Foster of Borger, Texas; her two daughters, Mary A. Michaud of Manchester and Suzanne Pooler and her husband, Michael, of Oakland; her sister, Carol Judkins and her husband, Alton, of East Winthrop; her niece, Gaila Beach and her husband, Thomas, of Contoocook, N.H., along with four stepdaughters, several stepgrandchildren, and several cousins.
The family would like to express their appreciation for the loving care that Joyce received from the staff at MaineGeneral Rehabilitation & Nursing Care during the many years that she was in their care.
Visiting hours will be held from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, April 25, after a private service for immediate family. Arrangements are in the care of Knowlton & Hewins Funeral Home, 1 Church St., Augusta.
Memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association, Maine Chapter, 170 U.S. Route 1, Suite 250, Falmouth, ME 04105.
