He was born in Waterville on June 12, 1962, the son of the late William Perry and Eunice May (Campbell) Gordon Sr.
Following his schooling at Lawrence High School, Buddy served briefly with the Army.
He married his soul mate, Shayne Tibbetts, and the couple shared many happy years together until her passing on March 22, 2006.
Buddy was employed with different tree service companies in his earlier years and had been employed by Louis Mack Scrap Metals in Portland for nearly 20 years.
Buddy was a very caring man who was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially being by the water. Spending time with his family and friends meant the world to him. He was a man with a heart of gold.
Besides his parents and his wife, he was predeceased by an infant daughter; a sister, Wilma Gordon; a niece, Lisa Gordon Albert; his favorite brother-in-law, Ernest "Big E" Moody; and brother-in-law, Christopher Harris.
Buddy will be sadly missed by his siblings, Dee Ann Moody, Joan Harris, Linda Wentworth and her husband, Bob, Donna Simpson and her companion, Dwight Grant, Judy Gordon, Patty Gordon, William Gordon Jr. and his wife, Ann, Dale Gordon and his wife, Rhonda, Michael Gordon and his wife, Lorraine, Elizabeth Gordon, and Brian Wheeler; a special nephew, Jeremy Gordon, and his wife, Jennifer, and their children, Tiana, Kirsten, and Alexis Gordon; special friends, Scott Gurney and Dana Carpenter; and several more extended family members.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at Maine Medical Center in Portland for the exceptional care Buddy received.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 16, at Lawry Brothers Funeral Home, 107 Main St., Fairfield, with Pastor Steve Donahue officiating. Burial will be at Burr Cemetery in Freeport at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.

To his family: I am so sorry for your loss. I knew him quite well, I used to live above his apartment at 658 A Congress St. We were very close and I miss him terribly. I am still shocked to find out about his passing since I haven't seen him in a few months. I pray that the Lord will give you strength.

Sorry for the loss of your loved one. At times like this you should rely on family and friends. Along with that rely on God because He is a God of comfort and He cares for you.

I will never forget you Buddy, we had some unbelivable times together when we were kids, from the Island days to Tuppers Farm and to that apartment that we shared on Summit Street. You were a true blue friend, a brother of mine and I am proud to say that I knew Buddy Gordon. You were a kind gentle soul who was tough as nails at the same time. This world is less of a place without you in it. I love you and I will never forget you, rest in peace my brother........
