Dana Stevens Obituary

BELGRADE -- Dana O. Stevens, 76, husband of Connie Baker Stevens, passed peacefully from this life to meet his Savior, Jesus Christ, at 5:25 a.m. on Saturday, May 14, 2011. At his side were his wife, Connie, son Peter, nephew Andy, and his Pastor and wife Terry and Jackie Tiner. Dana was born in Belgrade on July 28, 1934, to Oscar and Ethel (Wright) Stevens.

Dana proudly served his country in the Army. He spent much of his working life at Blue Rock Industries fir 17 years and at Tilcon Inc. for 20 years. For many years, Dana was a member of the Oakland and Belgrade volunteer fire departments. He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing and helping to keep the grounds looking great at Christie's Campground in Newport. At home, along with his wife, he enjoyed spending time with their dog, Mindy.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Judy Furbush Stevens; son David; and a sister, Marcella Kenniston. Surviving are his wife Connie's and his son, Peter; daughter Stacy; granddaughter Harley; grandson Dakota; sister Juanita Bickford; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 28, at Pine Grove Cemetery in Belgrade, followed by a celebration of his life and reception at North Belgrade Baptist Church, 8 Station Road, Belgrade. Arrangements by Wheeler Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Oakland.

For those who wish, in lieu of flowers a donation can be made to the North Belgrade Baptist Church, 8 Station Road, Belgrade, ME 04917.

Dad, I will miss you dearley. I want to thank you for everything that you did for me. You tought me so much you did the best you could by raising me on your own after mom died. I love you so much. your grandkids miss you and love you a lot.
