He was born May 11, 1963, a son of Wesley O. and Mavis (Storer) Lane and was a 1981 graduate of Jay High School.
On June 18, 1988, he married Charlotte Whitney in Industry. Mr. Lane was employed at GH Bass Shoe Co., Franklin Show, and since 1987 had been employed at Bath Iron Works.
He was a lover of the outdoors who enjoyed hunting, ice fishing, jeeping, camping, ATV-ing and landscaping. He also enjoyed music and dancing.
He was a previous member of Bartlett United Methodist Church of North Jay and was a member of the North Jay, Excelsior, and Pomona Grange as well as the Flagstaff ATV Club and Shorey Chapel in Industry.
He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Charlotte, of Industry; two sons, Jason and his wife, Kathyrn of Farmington and Justin of Industry; his mother, Mavis, of North Jay; brother, David, and his wife, Penny, of Gettysburg, Pa.; sister, Tammy Lane of
Farmington. He was predeceased by his father, Wesley, on Jan. 2, 2011.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Wiles Remembrance Center, 136 High St., Wilton with the Rev. Marcia Charles officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the center on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. Interment will follow services at Birchland Cemetery in North Jay. The family suggests that memorial donations be considered to the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society, PO Box 4072, Pittsfield, MA 01202 or to the American Cancer Society, Maine Affiliate Inc., One Bowdoin Mill Island, Topsham, ME 04086.

Darryl, you were among the finest people I have had the honor to know. You were honest, caring and hard-working--just a few of the qualities that made you a complete success and an example to be followed. You left the world better than you found it. You are missed.
