She was born in Fairfield on June 29, 1923, the second child of Robert and Mary (Francoeur) Packard. Eva attended Oakland schools, graduating from Williams High School.
Mrs. Mosher was employed a short time by Diamond International Corp. in Oakland and for several years as a paper tester at Hollingsworth and Whitney Co. in Winslow. She and her husband built and managed one of the first deluxe mobile home parks in Clearwater, Fla., and they established Import Motors of Clearwater.
For more than 50 years, Eva spent her winters in Clearwater, St. Petersburg, Fla., and more recently in Brooksville, Fla. After the passing of her husband, she continued to drive herself to Florida, along with her companion, Bootsie. She loved the outdoors and maintained a garden, which she shared with friends and neighbors, in both Maine and Florida. One her greatest pleasures was helping others. She was an accomplished seamstress, making many of her own clothes. Eva was a former member of the Oakland-Sidney United Methodist Church, where she at one time taught Sunday School.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband or 48 years, Franklin Mosher; an infant sister, Mary Evangeline Packard; her brother, Edward Packard; two sisters, Margaret Claire Stevens and Rosie Belle Fortier; and a special nephew, David Stevens. Surviving are a stepdaughter, Jacklyn Clements of Enfield; a stepson, Franklin Mosher of Groton, Conn.; a niece, Debra Williams, and husband Rodney of Bingham; four nephews Paul Stevens and wife Hope, Mark Stevens and wife Mary, Gary Stevens and wife Lori and Dale Stevens and wife Lynne; and many great nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to visit from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Wheeler Funeral Home, 26 Church St., Oakland, where a funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Waterville Area Humane Society, 200 Webb Road Waterville, ME 04901.
