He was a member of the Maine Antique Power Association and enjoyed going to shows and displaying replicas of antique motors that he built.
He is survived by his son, L. Earl Godsoe III and wife Penny of Hartland; his daughter, Mary Lou Storen and husband Fred of Newport; his stepdaughter, Nancy Armstrong and husband Gary of Pittsfield; four stepsons, Jerry Alton, Robbie Alton, Allen Alton and Philip Alton; eight grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Ronald Godsoe and wife Nancy of Hartland, Henry Godsoe and wife Norma of Plymouth, and Lee Godsoe and wife Janet of Newport; and one sister, Sylvia (Molly) Worthing, of Howland.
He was predeceased by his parents; a sister, Irma Temple; and a brother, Nolan Godsoe.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. June 4, 2011, at Detroit Village Cemetery, Route 220, in Detroit, with Milo Vanadestine officiating.
