Loretta Weeks Obituary

HARTLAND -- Loretta Mae Weeks, 71, died peacefully Thursday, May 12, 2011, at her home in Hartland. She was born on June 10, 1939, in Lebanon, N.H., the daughter of the late Howard and Whillena (Adams) Needham.

Loretta was a hard worker. She was employed by SAS for many years and also served as a crossing guard in her community. She was the kind of person who often put others first. She was an avid collector of clocks and had a tremendous love for her grandchildren.

She is survived by her loving companion of 30 years, Chief Elwin Tilton; her children, Susan Tibbetts and husband David of Plymouth, Sally Hall of Athens, Loriann Hall of New Zealand, Toni Batchelder of Skowhegan, Betty Durrell and husband Glen of Industry, and David Richardson of Lewiston; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her sister, Carole Nadeau, of Charleston; two half brothers, John Needham of Maryland, and Bob Needham of Kittery; and her faithful Chihuahua, Little Boy.

She was predeceased by her parents.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 p.m., with a funeral service at 6 p.m. Sunday, May 15, at Shorey-Nichols Funeral Home, 191 Hartland Ave., Pittsfield. A committal service will take place at 10 a.m. Monday, May 16, at Pine Grove Cemetery, Route 152, Hartland.

To all who lost loretta,I also worked with her for yrs at sas,but when I first met her was when our family first moved here,many yrs ago,in the laundramat in the plaza in pittsfield. the storys she could tell. always making someone laugh,but dont ever make her mad, she was a wondewrful woman,and whoever"s heart she touched she will be greatfully missed, rest loretta........Shelley Bussey
