PUYALLUP, Wash. -- Arthur A. Granholm Sr., 93, died on April 8, 2011, in Puyallup, Wash.
He was born in Baltimore, Md., on April 1, 1918, the son of Elin Gadda Granholm and Charles Albert Granholm. He was educated in Thornwood, N.Y. schools and Central Bible College in Springfield, Mo..
Arthur first worked as a Quality Control Inspector for Electrolux Corp. in Greenwich, Conn. He then worked as an Inspector for Portland Machine Tool Works in South Portland. He finished his career as Personnel Director and Purchasing Agent for Schrillo Aircraft Corp. in Simi Valley, Calif. After retirement he moved to Puyallup, Wash.
Arthur enjoyed time with his family, cruise ship traveling and making jewelry at home. He was very active in church work at the Puyallup Foursquare Pentecostal Church and was a member of the church's bowling team.
Arthur is survived by his wife Emily; his two sons, Ronald Granholm of Durham, and Richard Granholm of Yarmouth, his daughter, Cathy Strout of Westbrook; his brother, Edward Granholm of Palm Bay, Fla., his sister, Elsa Granholm of Tampa, Fla.; and several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Arthur was predeceased by his son, Arthur A. Granholm Jr.
A graveside service was held on on Thursday April 14, 2011, in Enumclaw, Wash.
