Elizabeth Irene Lachance, 84
AUBURN -- Elizabeth Irene Lachance, 84, passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2011, at the Hospice House in Auburn after a short courageous battle with cancer. Betty was born on May 8, 1927, in Westbrook, the daughter of the late Everett Charles and Lydia Bessie (Newell) Boothby.
Betty was a member of Central Square Baptist Church, Portland until she moved to Buxton. She was a waitress for many years and worked for B & M Beans. She loved spending time with family and friends and loved going to Beano.
Betty leaves her husband of 34 years, Eugene Lachance; a daughter, Donna (Brown) and Tim Michaud of Mechanic Falls, a son, Stephen and Connie (Krenz) Brown of Saginaw, Mich.; sister, Jackie Allard and brother, Richard Boothby, both of Westbrook; two step-children, Lisa Sloan of Utah and Gary Lachance; nine grandchildren, Tricia Atkins, Kevin and Cheryl Atkins, Stephen and Jamie Brown, Shawn Krenz, Shannon (Krenz) and Tom King, Sara and Lindsey Sloan, Desiree and Bradley Lachance; and nine great-grandchildren, Michael, Brian and Rachael Routhier, Gwenyth Brown, Jacob, Jalen, and Allison Krenz, and Preston and Gracee King. Betty leaves a special friend, Evelyn Suitter. Besides her parents Betty was predeceased by three sisters, Arlene Beale, Shirley Johnson, both of Westbrook, Leona Spaulding of Rumford, and two brothers, Phillip Boothby of Westbrook and Robert Boothby of California.
A graveside service has been planned on Monday, May 16, 2011, at 10 a.m., at Woodlawn Cemetery, Westbrook. Arrangements by Blais and Hay Funeral Home Westbrook.
In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested donations to
Hospice House, Auburn.
