BROCKTON, Mass. -- Joan B. (Barry) Ellis, 79, a longtime resident of Stoughton, Mass., died at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton, Mass., on Monday, May 2, 2011. She was the wife of 58 years of Donald E. Ellis.
Daughter of the late George and Myrle (Varnum) Barry, she was born and raised in South Portland and graduated from South Portland High School, Class of 1950. She also attended Portland Business College.
Mrs. Ellis was a resident of Stoughton, Mass., since 1958. She was a homemaker. An avid reader, she also enjoyed playing golf and bowling.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Ellis was the mother of Laura J. Ellis of Carver and the late Gregory E. Ellis. She was the grandmother of Dana Lloyd and great-grandmother of Chevy Lloyd. She was the sister of Jean Siulinski of South Portland.
Funeral services will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27), Stoughton, Mass., on Thursday at 11 a.m. Visiting hours prior from 10-11 a.m. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton, Mass. Directions and obituary at www.farleyfh.com.

We are so saddened to hear of Joan's passing. She was a dear friend and great person and will be missed.
