We have been greatly saddened. A very wonderful woman has gone away from us all. Mrs. MacDonald was a 2nd Mother to Michele and I. We were blessed the day we moved into 45 Quebec St and met Mrs. MacDonald. I had another person to cook for and help her to bake for her family, when she was not able to do so. We shared many hours baking and talking. Mrs. MacDonald always asked how everyone in my family and Michele's family were, each time we visited her. Our evening rituals were to go upstairs and talk, share a snack and laugh or watch Red Sox games. Boy could she yell and curse at those Sox. Michele enjoyed planting beautiful flowers outside within her viewing range. She could look out her windows each spring and see crocuses, tulips, daffodils and Michele's roses. We even had her gardening 2 summers in a row. We got her patio tomatoes and placed them on crates on the back porch roof so she could grow her own. She seemed to enjoy doing that. Each summer, we would help her down the backstairs to sit out in the patio I had built. Marge and Anne would come over to visit her also. There were many warm summer nights we stayed out till 9:30. And come the 4th of July, the 3 of us, sitting on the porch or in the street to watch the fireworks. Michele and I have LOTS of very special memories of this wonderful woman. Our BEST friend, Margaret MacDonald. When we moved to Rhode Island, we told her that we would see her soon. We returned to see her last August, for my 50th birthday. She was still that same "young chick" we had said see you soon too the year before. We spent 2 days with her. Italians from Amatos and lots of laughs. And once again, when we left to return to RI, we said see you soon. It is with heavy hearts that we have to say Good Bye to her. We will always have our memories and many photos to remember our BEST friend. You had a wonderful life, Mrs. MacDonald. Longer than most people we know. Thank you for sharing your journey with your "2 daughters from downstairs", Bea and Michele. We love you very much and will continue to miss you. xoxoxox Bea & Michele
