David W. Knox

David W. Knox died on September 14, 2013 at the Meadows at Shannondell in Audubon, Pennsylvania, where he has resided since 2010. David was born in Washington, DC on January 21, 1922, son of the late Donald W. Knox and Carrie Hoke Knox. He was preceded in death by his wife of 16 years Virginia Vogt Knox in 2005. David was a graduate of Bradenton High School in Florida and received a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Florida in 1943. He served as a 1st Lieutenant in the United States Army Air Forces from 1944 to 1946. After World War II, David's career took him to many states including Florida, New York, Maryland, Virginia, Connecticut, New Jersey and New Hampshire. He was a member of IEEE and the National Society of Professional Engineers. Most of David's later life was spent in Pennsylvania. He resided in Ardmore, Wayne, and Devon and was an active member of the Wayne Presbyterian Church choir for many years. He was survived by his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Marilyn and William Manus, and nieces, Elizabeth and Susan Manus. David will be sorely missed. Burial is private in Hollowayville, Illinois.
