Russell Hurd Crawford

Russell Hurd Crawford died peacefully at home, on February 19, 2013. Born on August 11, 1927, he was the son of the late Alan and Dorothy Hurd Crawford of Devon. He was predeceased by his sisters, Dorothy Dana and Mary "Polly" Cummin. He is survived by his beloved wife Lana of 63 years of marriage; his daughters, Lana Rogers of Paris, Mary Dana "Polly" Birr of Eugene, and Anne Trumpler (Martin) of King of Prussia; his grandchildren, Lana France of Paris, Mary "Mollie" Jean De Dieu of Hong Kong, Specialist 4th Class Christopher Rogers, serving in Afghanistan, Meghan and Brendan Birr of Eugene, and Robert Trumpler of Merchantville, Dorothy and Alexander Trumpler of King of Prussia; his great grandchildren Damien and Alexandre France of Paris, and Mia Jean De Dieu of Hong Kong. His brother, Alan Crawford (Barbara) of Devon also survives him. Russell was in the army and served 2 years in Japan. Upon return, he married the love of his life, Lana. He then worked as a manufacturer's rep. for industrial pump companies. In years past, he had been a member of the Hillsboro Club in Florida and the Mill Dam in Wayne, PA. He was also a member of the Courts and Merion Cricket Club. Cars were his joy. Russell was a connoisseur of antique vehicles. He was a member of Historical Car of Pennsylvania, Antique Auto Club of America, Model A Ford Foundation and the New England M.G. T Register LTD. Russell Crawford will be best remembered for his delightful sense of humor and his kindness and generosity to others. He was a supportive and helpful friend. The funeral mass will be held at 11:00, Saturday, February 23, at St. John Vianney, 350 Conshohocken State Rd., Gladwyne, Pennsylvania. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Bryn Mawr Hospital Foundation, 130 S.
