Marilyn Luff Obituary
Marilyn K Luff died peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 in her home at Dunwoody Village Care Center, Newtown Square, PA. She was born in Bryn Mawr, PA on November 9, 1922, and for 53 years was married to the love of her life, William G. Luff, who died in 2000. "Tippy", as she was also known, graduated from Lower Merion High School in 1940, attended Moore College of Art, and lived and worked in Philadelphia as a young woman. The Luffs raised their family of three children in Merion Park and Wynnewood, PA. Every summer was spent at their home in Ocean City, NJ where the family sailed at the Ocean City Yacht Club. Marilyn and Bill devoted their lives to the Ocean City Tabernacle Association, a renown interdenominational Christian summer worship center, where Mr. Luff was president from 1961-1992 after his father Ralph's presidency (1948-1961). Mrs. Luff was an active volunteer in many organizations during her life. Bala Cynwyd Methodist Church, Children's Aid Society of Montgomery County, the Republican Women Hannah Penn House, and others benefited from her devotion, creative skills and fundraising efforts. Marilyn was a vivacious and charming lady of great faith. She was always a very caring and loving wife, mother and grandmother who devoted herself and her life selflessly to her family. She is survived by two daughters, Deborah L. Carboni (Jim) of Devon, PA; Sherril L. Wingo (Ron) of Columbus, NC; a son William G. Luff, Jr. (Holly) of Wynnewood, PA; three granddaughters, Megan C. Reoch of Philadelphia, Kristen E. Carboni of Devon, and Nicole F. Luff of Wynnewood; and one grandson, Tyler M. Luff of Wynnewood. A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 9 at 11 a.m. in the Wayne United Methodist Church, Wayne, PA. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Carson Valley Children's Aid, 1419 Bethlehem Pike, Flourtown, PA 19031 in memory of Marilyn K.
