Robert Tarlecky Obituary

Robert J. Tarlecky of Berwyn, PA, passed away unexpectedly in his home on Sunday April 16, 2012. He was born on January 12, 1948 to Ann and Bolick Tarlecky at Bryn Mawr Hospital. He was a graduate of Conestoga High School and was a self-made business man. "Bobby" or "Bo" as known by his close friends, celebrated many great accomplishments in his life and was a successful business owner of several Development Companies, building homes throughout the Main Line. He taught his children the importance of never giving up and to keep trying no matter what and he practiced that daily. Bob could and did accomplish anything he put his heart and mind to. He was a loving father to his four children, Alexander Tarlecky of Gainesville, VA; Katherine Tarlecky of Long Beach, CA; Carrie Gilbert of Virginia Beach, VA and Benjamin Tarlecky of Paoli, PA. He particularly loved spending time with his four grandchildren Dylan, Parker, Abby and Ella. A fifth grandchild, Lily, will be born on May 3rd and he was looking forward to loving her as well. In addition to spending time with his family, he enjoyed traveling, sailing, gardening, entertaining his friends and cooking. He will be fondly remembered as a man who opened his heart and home to all. He is survived by his sisters; Rozanne Tarlecky and Deborah Scavello; his brother Bolick Tarlecky Jr.; 4 adult children, 4 grandchildren and his former wife of 30 years, Deborah Tarlecky. A Memorial Service is planned for June 2, 2012 at his home in Berwyn at 12pm. Arrangements are with Alleva Funeral Home, Inc.

White Bay and JVD will not be the same with out Bob and the Bob Sled. I became friends with Bob on my many trips to JVD. He was a great friend and even though I would only see him once a year it always felt like we were best friend. I feel blessed to have known him and share a little bit of paradise with him. We only met Bob once, this past year on Anegada. He was such a charming man, so full of life. I know he will be missed.

To Ben, Carrie, Katie, Alex and Debbie we send our sincerest condolences. That Tuesday when we read an e-mail about Bob's passing we were and still are in total disbelieve. We just had dinner with him the previous week-end and spoke with him on the phone at least 4 times that week. We will miss him terribly and he will always be in our hearts.
