A. Francis Obituary

A. Ward Francis, Sr., of Wayne, PA and Nantucket died unexpectedly on Sat. March 2nd, 2013 at age 67. He was the son of the late Elinor Ward and George T. Francis Jr. A graduate of The Haverford School, Class of 1963; attended University of Louisville and Drake College. He served in the United States Navy from 1967 until his Honorable Discharge in 1970. His interests included photography and travel. He was the beloved husband of Kathleen Wixted Francis and devoted father of Austin Ward Francis Jr., Ph.D. and Adam Christopher Francis. He is also survived by his grandson, Akira Connor Francis. His Memorial Service will be held on Fri. March 8th, 2 PM in Church of the Redeemer, corner of Pennswood and New Gulph Rds., Bryn Mawr, PA. Burial will be private in the Churchyard. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to either the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 897, Hershey, PA 17033 or The Bryn Mawr Hopsital, 130 S. Bryn Mawr Ave., Bryn Mawr PA 19010 The family is being cared for by Chadwick & McKinney Funeral Home of Ardmore www.chadwickmckinney.com
