I had the pleasure of attending Mr. Brills class most of my four years at Harriton High School. He was there to teach but was also very understanding. I ran in to him a few years ago in Ardmore and he was the same great guy with the ever present smile. Very sad to learn he is no longer among us.

Paula and family,
I was absolutely shocked to hear of Dave's passing. I have known Dave for over 40 years and had many fine memories of Dave especially as a teacher, an all around nice person, a colleague and a friend. He will be a missed Ardmorite, With deepest regrets, John Mullin

So sorry for your loss. I like many others had Mr. Brill as a teacher in Harriton. He was a great person. One of my all time favorite teachers. I now live in Havertown, I wish I had run in to him at some point. My thoughts and prayers go out to your family

Mr. Brill was the man. Coolest guy on that campus. Always smiling and always laughing.

Mr. Brill was one of the only teacher that could relate and connect with any and all students no matter their cultre or ethnic background. My wife and I both had Mr. Brill and to this day we still use a bookshelf that she made in 1994. Thank you Mr. Brill.

Paula and family- I have truly been wordless since Butch gave us the sad news. He was a wonderful guy and a great colleague who sent so many kids into the real world with real world skills. He was the man with hands of gold and I am in denial that I'll never see him again.
Dave, I will miss you always.

Paula and Brill Family:
We are so grateful we had the opportunity to get to know Dave (and Paula) over the past few years that we have been neighbors! From sharing wine and yard tools, what I treasured most was the smile and love of life that always filled every conversation! You will be greatly missed Dave!

When I think of Harriton I think of the times that Dave and I car pooled together. He was a little sleepy in the morning but always managed to cheer me up knowing that I had difficult kids to deal with every day. I used to wander down to the shop frequently as I knew I had a real friend there. My prayers are with the family

I was lucky enough to have had Mr. Brill as a teacher way back when. He was one of those teachers who everyone should hope their children get at least one of in their lives. I was not exactly a perfect kid (to put it mildly), and Mr. Brill actually changed the way I saw the world. That is some incredibly powerful stuff.
Now, I'm 43 years old, a father of 3, a genuinely happy person, and I know Mr Brill played a role in all of that. I sincerely hope that Mr. Brill is duly rewarded in whatever happens after this life.
An amazing man, an amazing teacher.

Dad the outpouring of emotions, fun stories and good memories of you have been so heartwarming I know you can hear them. You brought joy to many people. I am so grateful for our relationship your were not only a wonderful father and grandfather - you were my best buddy. I feel surrounded by your love and presence. This passage has given me some comfort; God saw you were getting tired and a cure was not to be. So he put his arms around you and whispered "Come to Me". A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands now rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us he only takes the best. We love you Dad thank you for being our guardian angel.

David is the reason I am doing what I'm doing today. I first met him in sixth grade at Welsh Valley. He gave me the only academic award, straight A's in Industrial Arts 4 years straight. He is one of the best men I have ever known. For years after high school he is the only reason I would go back to Harriton, just to say hi.

I was so sorry to hear of the passing of your father, grandfather and husband (David Brill), my prayers and thoughts are with all of you. I am a graduate of Harriton High school class of 1983. Mr.Brill was one of my favorite teachers, he cared about each and every one of his students. After graduating high school I would occasionally run into Mr.Brill and he always greeted me with his wonderful smile and a great big hug. Mr. Brill you will be remembered always with fond memories. I'm sorry for your loss. Mr Brill was one of my favorite teachers at Harriton to run into because he always had a funny quip to share before shooing us into class. He interchangeably referred to my friend and I as "Frick" and Frack"; claiming it was because he couldn't tell us apart since we were always together. While that could have come across as dismissive, he always said it with a laugh and followed up with a joke or anecdote. I've thought of him through the years (usually while relaying, "there once was a teacher who called Christine and me Frick & Frack..."), and hope he had as much enjoyment from our interactions at school as I.

There is hardly a day that goes by that I haven't wished that we still had our shop with Dave Brill guiding and teaching our kids who, along with the rest of us, greatly admired and respected Dave.
