Diana Jackson Mather

1931 - 2014

Diana Jackson Mather, 83, long time resident of Villanova, passed away on August 9, 2014 at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Born in 1931, Mrs. Mather was a graduate of The Shipley School Class of 1949 and received a bachelor's degree in history from Connecticut College for Women in 1953. Mrs. Mather was a member of Merion Golf Club, and a past member of Martin's Dam Club. She was an avid golfer, competitive bridge player and a die-hard Philadelphia Eagles fan. Mrs. Mather rarely missed a game since attending the Championship game in 1948 and has been a season ticket holder for 55+ years. She was a past president of both the Connecticut College Club and Junior League Sustainers. Mrs. Mather was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, John L. Mather III, her three children, Lindsay (Michael) Forgash of Paoli, Pa., Tracie Gallagher of Charlottesville, Va., and Tori (Carl) Tremaglio of Keswick, Va., her eight grandchildren, and her sister, Sally Gray of Baltimore. Friends and relatives are invited to attend a memorial service to be held on Thursday, August 14, 11:00 a.m. at the Church of the Redeemer in Bryn Mawr, Pa.
